Filtrete Miele FJM Synthetic Bags and Filters, 5 Bags and 2 Filters Per Pack Review

I got tired of the overpriced Miele bags ( each, to fill with dirt and throw away? really?) and looked for an alternative. The 3m bags are still more expensive than the cheapest knock off bag, but they are the best engineered. Miele’s reincarnated FJM bag now features a clapper valve that is supposed to shut between vacuuming sessions. Problem is, once the bag starts to fill, the debris prevents the valve from closing. This allows the contents to spill out when the bag is removed. 3m continues to use the old slide up door that clicks into place when you remove the full bag. As far as operational performance, I can discern no appreciable difference.
